Book Review: Shaman King, volume 1

Title: Shaman King, volume 1 by Hiroyuki Takei
Reviewer: Michael S.

Is it a good book? Yes it was I like it because it keeps you on your toes about what’s happening.

Would you recommend it? I would recommend it to people who like action books and wait to see what is going to happen next. Ex: Yoh is the main charter and he is on a quests to find strong sprits to help him win the title Shaman King.

What did you like about the book? What I like about it was that it was something new that I have read before. Ex: it starts out with Manta rushing to catch the last train home and finds Yoh in a graveyard and is looking at the stars.

What did you dislike? I didn’t like that it was a dull beginning.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. Overall I thought it was a good book I like how it was something different from other anime book if you like a lot of action and shaman’s this is the book for you!

Book Review: 24 Girls in 7 Days

Title: 24 Girls in 7 Days by Alex Bradley
Reviewer: Vy T.

Is it a good book? This is a great book it’s all about this guy named Jack, he is alone, geeky, only seems to have two friends and he definitely doesn’t have a date to prom. His supposed best friends pull a whacked out prank on him by posting a personal ad in the online version of the school paper. Now there’s a list of girls-24 of them- Jack has to schedule dates with before the prom, which is just 7 days away.

Would you recommend it?
Yes, 24 GIRLS IN 7 DAYS has everything: easy to read, funny and original. This book has great plot with a few unpredictable twists, plus an adorable self-deprecating main character.

What did you like about the book?
I like this book a lot, especially how he dated 24 girls and each of them have a different personalities. And I love the part how he described his grandma always loses her glasses on top of her head. The ending of this story is very sweet, before the prom he was trying to ask this girl that he likes, but he was too nervous so it didn’t work out. Then he met all 24 girls that responded on his ad, but none of them fit his personalities, and one thing he didn’t noticed, that there were still one more respond from one mysterious person; which was the girl he likes.

What did you dislike? Nothing that I dislike about the book.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. It’s loaded with tons of humor, romance, and mystery. Despite the light tone, Jack reveals an appealing deep side. It all adds up to a fabulous.

Book Review: Sold

Title: Sold by Patricia McCormick
Reviewer: Brittany Z.

Is it a good book? Yes, there was a lot of meaning in this book and talked about real world things like what happens to young girls in India. Lakshmi has to make a very big decision----- should she stay and help her family or should she risk everything for a chance to reclaim her life? I love what happens to the end of the book. You’ll just have to read to find out the answer to the decisions.

Would you recommend it? I would most definitely recommend this book. It has such deep thought within it and deals with so much that goes on every day. If you like real-world situations. This book would be great for you.

What did you like about the book? Lakshmi is just a 13 year old girl who is having to deal with her family’s crops getting washed away from the Himalayan monsoons. Her dad says that she must get a job and support her family.

What did you dislike? I really dislike when her dad introduces her to a glamorous stranger who tells her she will find her a job as a maid in the city. She journeys to India so she can help her family only to learn the unthinkably terrible truth: she has been sold into prostitution. What family would want that for their daughter no matter how poor you are. It just sounds wrong to me.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. This book was a real eye opener for me. Knowing how lucky I am not to have the problems most countries do. I have my freedom and I’m able to be who I want to be instead of having someone do it for me. I would love for this book to be read I school for English since it has such a big part in real-world situations.

Is it a good book? Yes it was a great book. It was a true story based on the Holocaust and was a very interesting story.

Would you recommend it? Yes I recommend this book because it can teach you about the history of the holocaust and what they did during that time.

What did you like about the book? I liked how the story tells it from the point of view from someone that was actually in the Holocaust and experiencing what the tragic terror was like that changed his life. For example, he mentions, “Never shall I forget that night in camp, that turned my life into one long night seven times sealed.” He also experienced other peoples terror, he mentions, “Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent night.”

What did you dislike? There was nothing really that I didn’t really like about the book. It was an excellent book. I really liked how the book tells its story.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. I thought the book was great and that it can teach you a lot about history and the importance of the Holocaust.

Reviewer: Trinidy B.

Is it a good book? Yes! It’s a great book and has a lot of great history in it.

Would you recommend it? Yes! If you like action and assassins you all will love this book.

What did you like about the book? Yes! This book has great action from the beginning to end, and it has assassins. In one point they kill Archduke Franz Ferdinand, like they were repeating history, World War 1, 1941.

What did you dislike? I don’t like that there’s only one book, it would be great if they made more with new assassins.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. Need to make another, if they don’t I will become the richest man alive, and I will make this story a series.
