What did you like about the book? What’s not to like? I liked every page on the book front to back.

Is it a good book? Yes! because it was so interesting and sad to read about how younger kids get involved in gangs and they can’t get out of there they have to stayed or they will kll them.

Would you recommend it? Yes! There is action and romance if people like gang books this is a good book to read I recommend to anyone.

What did you like about the book? I like every part it it’s a real world problem that so many teenagers get into gangs just because of fun, friends, family members, and other things but when they are there they realize that that’s not what they wanted but they cant do nothing about it anymore.

What did you dislike? I dislike the beginning of it because it was kind of boring it didn’t get my attention but after that It was really good.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. I wish there more series..and I wish the book never ended.

Book Review: 24 Girls in 7 Days

Title: 24 Girls in 7 Days by Alex Bradley
Reviewer: Vy T.

Is it a good book? This is a great book it’s all about this guy named Jack, he is alone, geeky, only seems to have two friends and he definitely doesn’t have a date to prom. His supposed best friends pull a whacked out prank on him by posting a personal ad in the online version of the school paper. Now there’s a list of girls-24 of them- Jack has to schedule dates with before the prom, which is just 7 days away.

Would you recommend it?
Yes, 24 GIRLS IN 7 DAYS has everything: easy to read, funny and original. This book has great plot with a few unpredictable twists, plus an adorable self-deprecating main character.

What did you like about the book?
I like this book a lot, especially how he dated 24 girls and each of them have a different personalities. And I love the part how he described his grandma always loses her glasses on top of her head. The ending of this story is very sweet, before the prom he was trying to ask this girl that he likes, but he was too nervous so it didn’t work out. Then he met all 24 girls that responded on his ad, but none of them fit his personalities, and one thing he didn’t noticed, that there were still one more respond from one mysterious person; which was the girl he likes.

What did you dislike? Nothing that I dislike about the book.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. It’s loaded with tons of humor, romance, and mystery. Despite the light tone, Jack reveals an appealing deep side. It all adds up to a fabulous.

Book Review: Sold

Title: Sold by Patricia McCormick
Reviewer: Brittany Z.

Is it a good book? Yes, there was a lot of meaning in this book and talked about real world things like what happens to young girls in India. Lakshmi has to make a very big decision----- should she stay and help her family or should she risk everything for a chance to reclaim her life? I love what happens to the end of the book. You’ll just have to read to find out the answer to the decisions.

Would you recommend it? I would most definitely recommend this book. It has such deep thought within it and deals with so much that goes on every day. If you like real-world situations. This book would be great for you.

What did you like about the book? Lakshmi is just a 13 year old girl who is having to deal with her family’s crops getting washed away from the Himalayan monsoons. Her dad says that she must get a job and support her family.

What did you dislike? I really dislike when her dad introduces her to a glamorous stranger who tells her she will find her a job as a maid in the city. She journeys to India so she can help her family only to learn the unthinkably terrible truth: she has been sold into prostitution. What family would want that for their daughter no matter how poor you are. It just sounds wrong to me.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. This book was a real eye opener for me. Knowing how lucky I am not to have the problems most countries do. I have my freedom and I’m able to be who I want to be instead of having someone do it for me. I would love for this book to be read I school for English since it has such a big part in real-world situations.

Book Review: Night

Title: Night by Elie Wiesel

Reviewer: Alexis T. (1B)

Is it a good book? Yes it was a great book. It was a true story based on the Holocaust and was a very interesting story.

Would you recommend it? Yes I recommend this book because it can teach you about the history of the holocaust and what they did during that time.

What did you like about the book? I liked how the story tells it from the point of view from someone that was actually in the Holocaust and experiencing what the tragic terror was like that changed his life. For example, he mentions, “Never shall I forget that night in camp, that turned my life into one long night seven times sealed.” He also experienced other peoples terror, he mentions, “Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent night.”

What did you dislike? There was nothing really that I didn’t really like about the book. It was an excellent book. I really liked how the book tells its story.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. I thought the book was great and that it can teach you a lot about history and the importance of the Holocaust.

What did you like about the book?
Yes, because this guy who was Vietnamese was the first descent NFL player to ever play in the NFL.

What did you dislike?
It would have been better if the book would talk about more NFL players instead of just one of them.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
It was shocking when I read that this guy named Dat Nguyen was the most descent Vietnamese player to be in the NFL because I would think that there would be more.

Book Review: Day of the Assassins

What did you like about the book? Yes! This book has great action from the beginning to end, and it has assassins. In one point they kill Archduke Franz Ferdinand, like they were repeating history, World War 1, 1941.

What did you dislike? I don’t like that there’s only one book, it would be great if they made more with new assassins.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. Need to make another, if they don’t I will become the richest man alive, and I will make this story a series.

Book Review: Romiette and Julio

Title: Romiette & Julio by Sharon M. Draper
Reviewer: T'Shalla J.

Is it a good book? Yes, this was a wonderful book due to the fact it’s about love (romance) and its kinda of Romeo and Juliet.

Would you recommend it? Yes, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance novels. It’s dealing with African American and Hispanic It's all about love and romance and romantic confusion. I think that would be fun to make that one into a young adult story.

What did you like about the book? I like this book because I can relate to the characters in the novel like Julio cause she really like Romiette but it’s hard for her to express her feelings and it’s by my favorite author Sharon M. Draper.

What did you dislike? How the journals in the beginning where boring it didn’t make any sense. How the teenagers tried to break up the relationship of Romiette and Julio.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. Sad, Loved the way it end - very relaxing.

Book Review: Sphinx's Princess

The Book: Sphinx's Princess by Esther Friesner
The Reviewer: Rebecca C.

Is it a good book? YES! The way that Esther Friesner takes world history and turns historical figures into books are magnificant. She can word phrases that can make a reader want to learn more about the historical figure or figurine in this book’s case. It is about a young lady who takes her own life into her own hands and won’t let anyone tell her other wise, not what to do; not what to say; what not be part of; and not who she is supposed to marry not even if it means punishment. She stands up for what she believes in.

Would you recommend it? Yes, I would recommend it to anyone that has read Nobody’s Princess and Nobody’s Prize. One can understand the feelings that the book characters feel. It is amazing.

What did you like about the book? I liked how Nefertiti has her own way of doing things, and is not willing to be obedient to anyone’s rules except her own. It makes the connection between me and the reader because as Nefertiti is stubborn with not being bossed around neither am I. I have that stubborn nature that makes me want to do things my own way and no one elses.

What did you dislike? There was not much to dislike about the book itself. I did not like the Queen or her eldest son, they were both a little to snobby and to demanding for a future husband and future mother-in-law. But I can understand why they were depicted as so for the story line.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. My thoughts are a painting of what Esther Freisner wrote in her book. Her words flow off the pages and from those words they form paintings and pictures in my mind to allow me to see and understand where and when the book was taking place. I enjoyed the book very much and I would read it over and over again. It is a book beloved by those who are interested in love and Romance. It ends perfectly so that the next book in the series, Sphnix’s Queen can wrap up what is told in the Sphinx’s Princess.

Book Review: Exposure

The Book: Exposure by Patricia Murdoch
The Reviewer: Alexis T. (1B)

Is it a good book? I thought that the book was a very good book. It was about a girl that had always been made fun of, but this bully eventually had gotten revenge.

Would you recommend it? I recommend this book to everyone because it is very interesting and I think that a lot of people would like it.

What did you like about the book? I liked how the young girl had got revenge in the story like she always had wanted but at the end the story turned out fine. For example, the main character had found embarrassing pictures of the bully and was showing it to everyone to get revenge because she always makes fun of her.

What did you dislike? I didn’t like how the bully had still been making fun of her and was mean to her calling her names even when the main character had helped her out.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. My thoughts about the book were that it was an excellent book and I think that if other people would read it than they would really like it.

Book Review: Perfect You

The Book: Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott
The Reviewer: Aala B.

Is it a good book? The book was very good, I really never wanted to put it down the detail that was given made you feel like you were watching all this happen.

Would you recommend it? I would recommend this book, but only to teenage girls, because it’s pretty much what most girls, goes through especially in the beginning of high school.

What did you like about the book? I loved every part of this book, from all the detail, it was funny, exciting to how you can’t completely guess whats going to happen next, and what the reaction and result will be but my favorite part would be, when Kate, and her Anna face each other again.

What did you dislike? I did dislike how, the situation Kate was put in were really hard to get out of, and how some situations that happened wouldn’t really happen, in what was going on. The book was really good, it has its own little story, I really do think if you want a good read, you should read this book, it’ll give a little gist of the “high school” world.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. Katie is an average high school girl, She goes to school, has a family, and has that one best friend. But after summer when school started up again, her so called “best friend” has left her. Her father decides to quit his job, and follow his dream as to selling vitamins. The money problems began so the only result to it, is her grandma staying with her family and pitch in. Also Kate has a little high school crush on the boy that’s does nothing but play cool, since he’s met her with a reputation of kiss every girl that crosses him. Kate likes Will, but Will when he starts acting interested, Kate doesn’t wanna be like every girl he’s kissed… So read to find out more about Will & Kate’s situation.

Book Review: Everything Beautiful in the World

The Book: Everything Beautiful in the World byLisa Levchuk
The Reviewer: Portecia R.

Is it a good book? Yes! Lisa Levchuk is a good writer. She is a great story teller. She makes you feel like you are in the story I just could wait to turn the page I read it so fast that I wanted to read it over and over again.

Would you recommend it? Yes! But only if you like things with teachers and students having an affair then you should read this. The book is not only dealing with the affair it’s a lot of life things that have to do with this story. Like Edna the girl that’s in the story her mother is going through cancer and she don’t know how to deal with it so this is her way of dealing with it is have an affair with one of her teachers.

What did you like about the book? Every part that had Mr. Howland In it, Mr. Howland is the man that is having an affair with Edna; meanwhile she has her eye on another teacher.

What did you dislike? All the parts of her going home talking about her life and how she hates it, that’s the boring stuff. Let’s gets back to the affair.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. The book was good. If I were you I would read it, it just doesn’t t tell you a story but it tells you about how people are in the real world well how some teachers in school are.

Book Review: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

The Book: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
The Reviewer: Kavrin M.

Is it a good book? Yes! Great book C.S Lewis writes in a way that you can fully understand what’s going on, and not fall off track it keeps you wanting to read!

Would you recommend it? Yes! What’s not to like? The book captures you and gets you interested, and plus there’s a lot of action, adventure.

What did you like about the book? I loved everything from the beginning to the end of the book every part was put exactly right, if I could I wouldn’t change a thing the book to me was just a great book all around, like when C.S Lewis describes something he gets his point across.

What did you dislike? None! The books made me feel like I was there, every word I read in this book made a picture in my head were it made the book clear and easy to read.

Tell us your thoughts about the book. I’m happy that I’ve only read the first book and not all because I’m looking forward to the rest of the books
